Bringing Light Back to Lives: Free Eye Surgery Camp at Bhokrha Narsing Rural Municipality

From 9th to 13th Poush 2082, a large-scale Free Eye Camp with Surgical Services was successfully conducted at Bhokraha Narsing Rural Municipality through the technical support of Mechi Eye Hospital and the generous initiative of Al Ehsan Charitable Foundation.

This five-day humanitarian eye camp was organized with the goal of reaching people in remote and underserved communities who have limited access to quality eye care. The response from the local community was overwhelming, with around 800 people receiving comprehensive eye examinations during the camp.

Out of those examined, 193 patients underwent cataract and other essential eye surgeries, restoring sight and improving the quality of life for many who had been living with avoidable blindness and visual impairment. All surgeries were performed by experienced ophthalmologists using safe and modern medical techniques, ensuring high standards of care.

For many patients, especially elderly and economically disadvantaged individuals, this camp was life-changing. Restoring vision does not only improve eyesight—it restores independence, confidence, and dignity. People who were once unable to work, read, or recognize faces can now return to their normal lives with renewed hope.

Mechi Eye Hospital is proud to support such outreach programs as part of its commitment to providing affordable, accessible, and high-quality eye care beyond hospital walls. Together with Al Ehsan Charitable Foundation, we continue to extend our services to communities that need them the most.

We sincerely thank the local authorities, volunteers, and healthcare workers who made this camp a success. Through collaboration and compassion, we are truly bringing light back into people’s lives.
